Advancing Gender Equality in Human-Centred AI
A partnership between Cardiff Metropolitan University and Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA (Nigeria), funded by the British Council Gender Equality Partnerships grant, HerHCAI tackles the under-representation of women in AI and the gender bias embedded in AI systems. Through a 10-week digital literacy course, mentorship from women AI experts, seminars on bias and ethics, an international conference, and UK–Nigeria exchange visits, the project builds skills, confidence, and awareness working toward a more inclusive AI ecosystem in both countries.
