5 Weeks (10 hours) HCAI Digital Literacy Course

The 5-week (10 hours) HerHCAI Digital Literacy and HCAI course is the cornerstone of the HerHCAI programme. Specifically designed for women and girls who are who are not in full-time employment or have limited technological experience, this free, online course provides essential digital skills and a deepened understanding of AI and its impact on society.
By the end of the course, participants will have earned a certificate, improved their employment prospects, and be better equipped to pursue further education or careers in the growing HCAI sector. Crucially, participants will also benefit from exposure to female AI role models who will motivate and guide them, and will learn about educational and professional pathways in AI.
What Participants Will Learn
- Build foundational skills to create Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that prioritise user-friendly design, ethics, and fairness.
- Understand the basics of developing inclusive, transparent, and easy-to-use AI systems.
- Apply principles of designing intuitive interfaces and effectively addressing user needs.
- Identify and address key challenges in AI, such as bias, discrimination, and fairness, using practical strategies.
- Demonstrate introductory knowledge of algorithm transparency and ethical decision-making in AI.
